What is corectopia?

Corectopia is a rare eye condition in which the pupil is not centered in the middle of the eye. It is typically caused by abnormalities in the muscles or nerves that control the movement of the eye.

Corectopia can occur in isolation or in conjunction with other eye disorders, such as congenital glaucoma or Axenfeld-Rieger syndrome. It can also be a side effect of certain medications or trauma to the eye.

Symptoms of corectopia may include blurred vision, sensitivity to light, and difficulty focusing. Treatment options for corectopia depend on the underlying cause and may include corrective lenses, surgery, or medications to manage related conditions. In some cases, corectopia may resolve on its own without any intervention.
