What is gamunex?

Gamunex is an intravenous immunoglobulin (IVIg) therapy used to treat various immune deficiency disorders such as primary immunodeficiency syndrome (PIDD), idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura (ITP), chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyneuropathy (CIDP), and Kawasaki disease. It contains a mixture of immunoglobulin G (IgG) antibodies from donors' blood plasma, which helps to boost the immune system and prevent infections. Gamunex is administered through intravenous infusion, and the dose and frequency of treatment depend on the patient's condition and response to the therapy. Some possible side effects of gamunex include headache, nausea, fever, chills, and allergic reactions. It is important to inform healthcare professionals about any pre-existing medical conditions or medications before receiving gamunex treatment.
