Königstiger, also known as the Tiger II, was a German heavy tank developed during World War II. It was an upgrade of the Tiger I tank and was designed to counter the Soviet heavy tanks like the IS-2. The Königstiger had a weight of 68 tons and was armed with an 88 mm KwK 43 L/71 gun, which was capable of penetrating thick armor. Its armor protection was also improved, with a maximum of 185 mm of frontal armor. However, its heavy weight, slow speed, and high production costs made it difficult to produce and operate in the battlefield. Despite these limitations, the Königstiger was feared by the Allied forces, and its reputation as a formidable tank is still remembered today.
