What is marachi?

Mariachi is a style of traditional Mexican music characterized by a small ensemble of musicians typically dressed in charro outfits. The ensemble usually consists of violins, trumpets, guitars, vihuelas, and guitarrónes, as well as vocalists. Mariachi music is known for its energetic and festive sound, as well as its rhythmic melodies and powerful vocals. The genre has its roots in the Mexican state of Jalisco and has since become a symbol of Mexican culture and heritage. Mariachi music is often performed at celebrations and events such as weddings, quinceañeras, and other festivities. In 2011, UNESCO recognized mariachi as an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
