What is mesosalpinx?

Mesosalpinx is a fold of peritoneum that attaches the fallopian tube to the broad ligament of the uterus. It provides support and stability to the fallopian tube and allows for its movement and flexibility during ovulation and fertilization. The blood vessels and nerves that supply the fallopian tube also pass through the mesosalpinx. In cases of ectopic pregnancy, the fertilized egg can implant in the mesosalpinx, leading to potential complications.
