What is modisc?

Modisc is a type of optical disc used for storing data and information. It is commonly used for software installation, backup, and archival purposes. Modiscs have a capacity of up to 4.7GB for single-layer discs and up to 8.5GB for dual-layer discs. They use a laser to read and write data on the disc's surface, which is protected by a clear plastic covering. Modiscs are comparable to DVDs but have a different format and are not as widely used. They were originally developed by the same company that created the Blu-ray format, but Modiscs did not achieve the same popularity.
