What is phenazon?

Phenazon, also known as antipyrine, is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) with analgesic and antipyretic properties. It works by inhibiting the production of prostaglandins which are responsible for pain and inflammation in the body. Phenazon is used to treat mild to moderate pain such as menstrual cramps, headaches, dental pain, arthritis, and fever. It is available in oral tablets, capsules, and liquid form. It is generally safe for short-term use but may cause side effects such as nausea, dizziness, and rash. It is not recommended for individuals with kidney or liver disease, blood disorders, or allergies to other NSAIDs. Phenazon is also contraindicated during pregnancy and while breastfeeding.
