What is polymide?

Polyamide, also known as nylon, is a synthetic polymer made from monomers containing amide groups. It is commonly used in the manufacture of textiles, plastics, carpets, and other industrial products. Polyamide is characterized by its high durability, strength, and resistance to wear and tear. It is also heat and chemical-resistant, making it suitable for a wide range of applications. Nylon stockings were the first commercial application of polyamide, with its invention in 1935 by chemist Wallace Carothers. Since then, polyamide has become one of the most widely used synthetic fibers in the world, with various types of nylon used for different purposes such as clothing, automotive parts, and electronics.
