What is sasser?

Sasser was a computer worm that spread through the internet in 2004. It was designed to exploit vulnerabilities in the Windows operating system to infect and propagate itself across networks. Sasser caused widespread disruption and affected millions of computers around the world, including government agencies, businesses, and individuals. The worm could cause machines to crash, slow down, or become unresponsive. Microsoft released a patch to fix the vulnerability that Sasser exploited, but many users failed to install the update, leaving their systems vulnerable. The author of Sasser, Sven Jaschan, was eventually arrested and charged with computer crimes.
