What is zhangmu?

Zhangmu is a small town located in the Tibet Autonomous Region of China. It is situated on the border with Nepal, and is a major crossing point between the two countries. The town is located at an altitude of over 2,300 meters above sea level, and is surrounded by steep mountains and dense forests. Zhangmu is known for its picturesque views and is a popular destination among tourists. However, it has been closed to tourists since 2015 due to the devastating earthquake that hit Nepal that year. In 2020, the Chinese authorities announced that the town would be further developed as part of the Belt and Road Initiative.
